Many Cornish rex will do anything to be with their parents and will even learn to walk on a lead in order to spend more time together. In general, they love being handled by their parents.

Cornish Rexes are ideal for people who enjoy having their lives managed by active, inquisitive, gazelle-like felines who enjoy a good joke as long as it isnt on them. The Cornish Rex sees everything as a game, and they can be difficult to ignore when theyre in a sociable mood, which is most of the time. With their favorite humans, Rexes are determinedly outgoing. They also make an excellent winter lap warmer due to their warm suede feel. They are intelligent, alert, and generally easy to deal with. With a purring Cornish stealing your food as soon as your back is turned, or even while youre looking, dinner will never be the same again. Some Rexes enjoy retrieving and will bring you objects to toss over and over. They are excellent climbers, leapers, and sprinters, and their paws are amazingly agile. A persistent Cornish will destroy any shelf or cupboard.

A British cat is one of the oldest major cat breeds in the UK. The breed was raised in the 19th century.

The breed was originally known as the British Blue. The name was related to the characteristic colour of the pet. Over time, the colour of the animal changed, so it began to be called British Shorthair.

There are more than a hundred variations in the color and pattern of the hair of this breed. The color of the eyes also varies, which largely depends on the color of the hair. Hair can have almost any shade: white, black, blue, red, cream, chocolate, purple. There may be cats with bi-colour and tricolour hair. It is noteworthy, that among representatives of the breed quite often there are animals with partycoloured eyes.

Weight 7 17 pounds Lifespan 1420 years.

A British Shorthair cat is often described as a calm and unassuming animal, with a fairly independent character. It cannot be said that British Shorthair cats are affectionate pets. It should be noted that these cats are very selective. A British Shorthair cat doesnt require much care and attention. Therefore, it is considered to be an excellent variant for busy people who spend most of their time at work.

Cornish Rex Kittens For Sale

Cornish Rex Kittens for sale, the Cornish Rex is a gentle, friendly cat that makes it a good family pet. The great pet qualities of this breed are highlighted by the appearance of its short wavy looking coat. It stands out from other cat breeds because its coat is primarily made up of soft down hairs, its undercoat. and it has virtually no awn or guard hairs. This breeds coat requires very little maintenance. Despite the downy undercoat, an interesting fact about this breed is that it is less likely than other cat breeds to cause an allergic reaction in people who are allergic to cats.

Cornish Rexcatshave an interesting body shape. They have a long slender body and tail, and long slender legs, but they are muscular and heavy around the hips. The head is triangular shaped with two big, oval shaped eyes, a long nose, and large ears. This cat requires little grooming and does not shed very much. In fact, it is important not to over-groom a Cornish Rex. The wavy coat pattern is encouraged with firm stroking, yet too much brushing can cause bald spots.

The Cornish Rex Breed

Pedigree Cornish Rex Kittens

History

The Cornish Rex breed came about in 1950 in Cornwall, England, when a barn cat gave birth to Kallibunker, a cream-colored, curly-coated male kitten with large ears and an arched body with long legs. His appearance was the result of spontaneous genetic mutation.

The name Cornish was created from the location where it was first born and ‘Rex’ after the curly-coated rexed rabbits discovered in France in 1919.

The breed arrived in the United States in 1957. The breed was accepted and recognized by the Cat Fanciers’ Association in 1964. The Cornish Rex has become a popular breed , particularly with allergy sufferers who seem to find his coat less irritating than that of other feline breeds, mainly due to its minimal shedding.

Cornish Rex cats and kittens are the perfect addition to any family. They will provide years of fun and companionship. As a breeder, the Carolina Rexes Cattery strives to provide Cornish Rexes that are healthy and socially-adjusted pets. You will love them as much as we do.

About The Cornish Rex

The Cornish Rex is a study in curves, with curly coat, curved profile, large expressive ears, and Whippetlike arched bodies. In spite of their sophisticated, elegant appearance, they are anything but cool, aloof, or dignified. They are affectionate, people-oriented, and active cats whose kitten-like antics last a lifetime. Favorite Cornish Rex games are fetch and catch, and they may even use their agile paws to pick up and toss small objects. Belying its fragile appearance, the Cornish Rex is a very sturdy breed. They are perfect pets for the owner who wants active cats to participate in family life.

The most striking feature of the breed is its very noticeably curly coat. Ideally falling in marcel waves, the coat is very short, lies close to the body, and is incredibly soft to the touch, prompting comparisons to cut velvet, karakul lamb, rabbit fur, or silk. In fact, nothing else feels exactly like a Cornish Rex coat.

In addition to the coat, this breed is remarkable for its distinct egg-shaped head with high cheekbones, hollow cheeks, a strongly bridged Roman nose, and large ears set high on the head. The body has been compared to that of a Whippet, with its arched back, barrel chest, small waist, and very fine, long legs. In spite of their dainty appearance, these small to medium sized cats are extremely hard-bodied and muscular, using their welldeveloped hips and long legs for fast starts and stops, quick turns, and high jumps.
