Kittens For Adoption In Wisconsin

Small Donation Big Difference

Wisconsin Humane Society: Kentucky cats up for adoption | FOX6 News Milwaukee

Each year we place over 200 cats into loving forever homes. Over ninety percent of the cats taken in are not up-to-date on vaccinations and are not spayed or neutered. Each year over $80,000 is spent on medical expenses. As an all donation run organization, it is generous people like you and many fundraising events that allow us to continue saving lives.

The Sauk County Humane Society Is An Open Admissions Shelter And Turns No Animal Away In Its Time Of Need No Matter What Its Age Condition Extent Of Injuries Or Behavior

This week’s SCHS Pets of the Week are Mary Ann and Taylor! To make an appointment to meet them, call us at 608-356-2520.

Taylor is a medium sized mixed breed dog. We estimate him to be about 1.5 years old. He came to the shelter as a stray. Taylor has a very calm and gentle personality. He is very sweet and approaches you in a friendly manner. He does well on a leash and also knows a few commands. Taylor would be okay with cats but would prefer a home with no other dogs. He’s a sweet boy and would make a wonderful addition to your family! Taylor is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered prior to adoption.

Cat and dog adoptions include the spay or neuter surgery, a microchip and current vaccinations

COVID-19 Update 3/25/20: SCHS Continues to be an Essential Community Resource

Thank you for supporting the SCHS team as we have made so many operational changes to keep providing high-quality care for our animals while protecting our staff and communitys health. Please take comfort knowing our animals are still receiving the love and care they deserve from our dedicated staff and volunteers.

If you find injured or orphaned wildlife, we will take that, too, or refer you to the proper authorities.

An open-admission shelter does not close its doors to the animals, even during a pandemic!

Here are our guidelines effective 25 March 2020:

Big Cats Are Feasting On Leftovers Local Rescue Facility In Need Of Meat Donations

Courtesy: Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue

SAUK COUNTY — With hunting season in full swing, a local rescue is hoping some may have leftovers in their freezers.

The Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue in Rock Springs has 21 big cats, including lions, tigers, a leopard and servals. Co-founder Jenny Kozlowski said each animal was rescued from somewhere like a zoo or circus.

“We are their forever home, kind of like a retirement facility for them, and they spend the rest of their lives here,” Kozlowski explained. “They become part of our family.”

What does it take to feed a family of 21? Kozlowski said it’s not easy.

“The last two or three months, we’ve been having to go to grocery stores and get it,” she said. “We had two different meat suppliers, and we lost both of them because of the price of meat and everything going up.”

In just one day, Kozlowski said a big cat can eat nearly 20 pounds of meat, meaning the rescue purchases more than 200 pounds a day to feed all 21 cats.

“Winter it’s usually double that amount,” she added. “They are so much more active in the winter than they would be in the summer, and it’s basically raw meat like beef, deer, chicken, lamb, turkey — all that good stuff.”

Kozlowski tells me the rescue is a non-profit and depends on donations to feed and take care of the animals.

She asks anyone with leftover raw meat from hunting, or in general, to keep them in mind.

If you’d like to donate, you can drop off meat at their location in Rock Springs.

Just Kittens Rescue At A Glance

A Bit of Background

Here at Just Kittens Rescue, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little love. Using this philosophy to build upon, we are determined to make an impact, one kitten at a time. The core of our efforts is saving kittens who may not otherwise survive and providing love, enrichment, and veterinary care. Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

At Just Kittens Rescue we put any money earned towards making an impact with community cats. We believe feral and community cats deserve our love and care and allow late-term pregnant cats the chance to safely deliver and ween their kittens prior to spaying and returning them to their colony. We are all unpaid volunteers at Just Kittens Rescue.
