Is A Ragdoll Cat Right For You

Bringing Home Our Ragdoll Kitten ~ first day at home ~ SO CUTE

Ragdolls have an incredibly giving nature but they also have needs that must be met in return. They like a stable, predictable environment and they hate to be alone. So if your home is rarely empty during the day, and you are able to maintain a stable feeding routine, then a Ragdoll might just be the one for you.

How To Inspect Free Kittens For Health

You may have been approached numerous times about free kittens near me. Cats can be prolific breeders. A litter of baby kittens for free is not likely going to have health certificates or parental guarantees. There are still ways to enhance your chances of adopting a healthy kitten. You can win half the battle by visiting where the kittens are before taking one home. If the mother is there, see what kind of health she exhibits. Make sure she does not look too thin or have runny eyes. But especially look at the entire litter. Avoid specific qualities in free kittens.

  • Lethargic or dull

Kittens for adoption from the neighbor or a family member and even a breeder can have parasites. These do not have to be deal-breakers unless they are suffering long-term effects or there appears to be an infestation. You can spot fleas by using a specialized comb. Flea combs have such fine teeth that they trap fleas. A flea comb is useful in dark animals or pets with only a few fleas.

Why Should I Get A Ragdoll

The Ragdoll Cat was developed over 50 years ago by combining the best characteristics of several different breeds including the Burman , Burmese , Persian and solid white DSH. The kittens who displayed the ideal temperament and coat were then bred to form the initial lines of the Ragdolls. Through careful selective breeding we have developed a cat who loves people and has a silky soft non matting coat. Ragdoll are also one of the breeds recommended for people with allergies. My family and I have been breeding these cats exclusively since 1994 .

Its important that your kitten not only come from lines that are healthy but that they are raised in an environment where they are socialized to adults , children, dogs , other cats and lots of activity. My breeding cats are TICA registered, DNA tested for heart disease +/-ultrasounded by a cardiologist , checked for kidney disease and are negative for felv/fiv and fip. Every kitten also come with a written health guarantee. In other words , we do everything possible to insure you get a perfect furry companion.

What our customers say about their experience

There is no better person to purchase a kitten from than a veterinarian in my opinion. Dr. Jenn is the best and we adore our precious soft and silky little Ragdoll. She is so affectionate and we are thrilled with her!

Jen knows her stuff, she is very responsive to any questions

All in all, great experience. I definitely recommend this breeder.

Where To Find Free Ragdoll Kittens

BEAUTIFUL REGISTERED RAGDOLL KITTENS FOR EASTER!!!

Ragdoll Kittens are so fluffy and cute its easy to understand why they have become so popular, especially if they can be adopted for free. Unfortunately, there are very few places around that will specifically shelter Main Coon cats but most places may have mixed or free primary coon cats available among many other breeds you may look at.

As is sometimes regular when seeking to adopt a Ragdoll Kitten for free some local shelters and adoption centres ask that you pay a small fee to help them keep running, but this is a low price to pay when you finally find a real Ragdoll with a great personality and traits.

Most the free Ragdoll cats you will find in shelters have been sadly abandoned by a previous owner, so this will make it more difficult to tell if you are dealing with a purebred Ragdoll kitten or not so be sure to do the research and In the end go with the aim of re-homing one of the cats to a loving family as this is most important.

Ragdoll Kittens For Sale From A Reputable Veterinarian Breeder

Getting a kitten from a breeder is not the same as getting one from a pet store. In a pet store, you will see a variety of animals from various sources, usually kept in small cages. Not only is the source and breeding poor, but you choose based on what appears to be attractive rather than what is best for you and your family.

When you adopt a kitten from a reputable breeder, you are making a decision based on the breeds qualities and how they will fit into your lifestyle. You can also choose if you want a boy or a girl. Boys tend to be more playful and socialize well with other animals, and girls tend to be quieter and do better as single pets.

Here is what sets us apart from other ragdoll cat breeders.

  • Experience: Midwest Ragdolls is a small family-owned cattery located just West of Chicago, Illinois. We have been breeding only the finest Ragdoll cats since 1995 and are proud to have the original Ragdoll lines.
  • Excellent Health: Our cattery is owned and operated by Dr. Jennifer Creed, a practicing veterinarian, and her kids. Our cats receive all the most current and comprehensive veterinary care and testing, which includes screening for temperament and all the common feline health issues.
  • Well Socialized: The cats are raised in our home and socialized with kids and dogs. Our kittens will come to you healthy, friendly, well socialized, and with a 3-year congenital guarantee.

    Age Of Kittens For Adoption

Cats do not seem particularly social, especially compared to dogs. This makes bonding with their mothers and littermates more important. You may not be able to fill social gaps as easily for a kitten as for a puppy. Ideally, kittens should stay with their siblings until they are 12 weeks old, although their mother will likely wean them between six and eight weeks of age. Kittens are usually still grabbing an occasional nursing session from mom up to ten weeks old. Beyond that, the queen continues teaching crucial skills to her kittens. Young cats learn a lot by watching. Moreover, cats emit pheromones that soothe the young and place them in a mental state conducive to education. Kittens who leave the nest too early, so to speak, can develop behavioral challenges. Some common issues are persistent suckling on inanimate objects, social miscues around other cats, the inability to groom adequately, or lack of knowledge about using a litter box or even burying waste at all. Kittens can grow up shy and may deal with their fear through aggression.

Barney has become so stressed with the addition of his dog-brother that he has had to be placed on Fluoxetine .

Barney loves to be the center of attention the apple of his owners eye. He is friendly and accepting of visitors, but has never been exposed to children. His ideal new home will be a quiet one without other pets. He would make a wonderful companion for a retired or senior couple or single with lots of time for him, and who follows a daily routine.
