Second Chance Pet Adoption

Rescue and Feeding Abandoned Cat Living on the Street (Animal Rescue)

Second Chance Pet Adoption League is a foster-based dog rescue made up of a few dedicated people who work hard to find homes for deserving dogs. The rescues come mostly from local shelters/pounds that may be forced to euthanize adoptable dogs due to lack of space. The organization also rescues dogs from puppy mills where they live in cages, neglected until they are no longer useful. Second Chance Pet Adoption League also accepts owner-surrendered dogs on a limited basis depending on space.

The rescue puts a strong focus on saving seniors, shy dogs, dogs with special medical needs, and others who benefit from the extra care they receive in a foster environment. Second Chance Pet Adoption League says, Seniors make the best friends! Though they may need some extra medical care to keep them happy and healthy, its very rewarding to open your home to an older dog in their golden years. The organization also believes its very rewarding to work with the shyest dogs who come from neglect, hoarding cases, or puppy mills that have never known human kindness to see them learn, grow, and form a special bond once they trust you.

William`s Home Cat Rescue

The Mission Statement of William`s Home Cat Rescue: At Williams Home, we call ourselves a cat Rescue, Rehabilitation, and Retirement Home. At the heart of our organization is the hope of getting more senior and special needs cats into homes. We have seen the older, imperfect cats get overlooked and left behind in shelters while younger, prettier, more perfect cats get adopted much more quickly especially kittens! While we support the rescue of any cat we want to raise awareness and show how much these amazing cats can bring to a family.

Whenever we have the capacity, we pull at-risk, special needs, medically fragile, or senior cats from local shelters, homes that can no longer care for them, or directly from the streets. Depending on their prognosis, we then move forward with one of the below:

I) Rescue

Our goal with any cat that we take in is to find them a loving forever home. We love all of the cats that come through our doors, but we know that every time we can get a cat adopted, we have room to help another! We are always open with potential adopters about any special needs or medical care that our cats may need, and focus on finding the right home for each cat, not just a home for them. They have been through so much, we want to ensure that they have the best life in their forever homes!

II) Rehabilitation

III) Retirement Home

Why Tabbys Place Cat Sanctuary Cares For The Most Vulnerable Kitties Who Have Nowhere Else To Turn

Courtesy of Angela Townsend Hartley/Tabbys Place: A Cat Sanctuary

Animal rescue efforts are often told in a series of short stories. Like Rawlings, a jowly gentleman struggling with feline immunodeficiency virus who first arrived at Tabbys Place after living in a feral colony. Or Alfie, a snuggly kitten with a cleft palate who needed nebulizer treatments. Or pint-sized Houston, suffering from a neurological condition , who was rescued from a hoarding situation. None were turned away.

Ever since our founding, Tabbys Place has been devoted to the most vulnerable catsthose who truly have nowhere else to turn. Were a haven for the least, the last, and the lost, Angela Townsend Hartley, the facilitys developmental director, tells Daily Paws. But the truth is, its the cats who encourage, and in many ways care for, us every day!

A cage-free rescue center in Ringoes, N.J., Tabbys Place specializes in caring for older cats and those with special needs and behavioral issues. Approximately 3040 percent of its residents have chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and paraplegia. It averages 15 adoptions each month, and some kitties are also fortunate to go to long-term foster homes.

However, there are roughly 100 feline residents in the sanctuary at any given time, like darling Olive below. Born paraplegic, she was only a kitten when discovered in a parking lot, alone and abandoned.

I had such an easy experience with Elzbieta from the first time I contacted her about getting a kitten. She sent pictures of my kitten and updated me on his health from the beginning. She provided me with all the info on things to get to help prepare me for when my kitten came home. She answered any questions I had before I got my kitten and continues to answer any questions I have now. I am so glad I was referred to her for my kitten.
