What Did Our Test Cats Think
To review Dr. Marty, we ordered a bag of Dr. Marty Natures Feast freeze-dried raw cat food as well as a bag of Squeekis Delight salmon treats. Our order arrived in a standard cardboard box with an Easy Start-Up Guide. This guide provides important information about Dr. Martys products including tips for transitioning your cat onto the food. It also provides feeding recommendations by body weight and tips for rehydrating the food with water to make fresh food for your cat.
The first thing we noticed was that the bag of food was very small it only contains 12 ounces of food. Plus, because it is freeze-dried raw food rather than kibble it is very lightweight. The pieces of food themselves were a little larger than the average piece of kibble but still appropriately sized for a cat. We also noticed the food had a strong aroma. In fact, it didnt take long after opening the bag for our test cats to come running. All three were immediately interested in the product.
We were very impressed by the quality of Dr. Marty Natures Feast cat food. There are absolutely no artificial additives and no fillers, just high-quality animal protein and superfoods. In fact, this formula doesnt require the addition of synthetic supplements to ensure nutritional balance which puts it at the high end of the spectrum for quality. Its very expensive but the price is justified.

As a pet expert, this got me intrigued and brought me to review Natures Feast Cat Food by Dr. Marty. Here is my honest take on the feline diet blend.
My Felines can get picky with food and are moody eaters. What excites them most is chomping onto their raw and wild ancestral form of the diet, including protein-rich meat. And that is exactly why I am writing this review after a satisfactory experience with Natures Feast Cat Food by Dr. Marty.
What Our Cats Think About Dr Marty Natures Feast Freeze
The freeze-drying process actually draws out all the moisture at low temperatures and controlled pressures. The end result is a product with far more shelf life without any nutrient loss during the process.
The freeze-dried raw food mimics the food a cat would eat in the wild. So, cats would love it without a doubt.
When I started feeding Dr. Marty to Lucy and my new rescue, Lily, both were showing pretty high energy levels.
However, Lucy was a bit hesitant to eat it in the beginning but then after four days, she accepted her new food wholeheartedly. I realized that she liked the kibble without the rehydrating whereas Lily liked it when I rehydrate it a bit.Rehydrating the food with a little water will restore the food to its original raw form and brings back the texture. Some cats like to have their food that way. All in all, our cats approved the food.

What Customers Are Saying:
I have been reading dog food labels pretty much since we got Scruffy because we want him to live a long healthy life. This is the only food that has only pure meat and veggies in it with no fillers.
Hunter was a picky eater. Most of the time I would have to add some kind of meat to his food to entice him to eat. Now he comes to the kitchen and waits for me to fix his food and eats every morsel he even comes back to lick the empty bowl.
After three weeks of dining on Dr. Martys, my 18-year-old Min-Pin is back. Bright eyes, shiny coat and plenty of playful energy. She can hardly wait for her evening walk. Truly amazing!! THANK YOU DR. MARTY.
I have two buddies, one Chihuahua and one Jack Russell. They almost act addicted to this food. There is no more sauntering to the food bowl, just an all out race to be first. I want nothing but the best for them and Dr. Martys Natures Blend is without a doubt the best on the market today.
When I get the bag of Dr. Marty out my dogs start dancing in circles. They know the bag. They lick their bowls clean. Its a very exciting experience for them. Im a little jealous :):)

Scientific Efficacy Of Freeze
Freeze-dried pet foods are becoming more and more popular. However, the veterinarians at the Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at Tufts University have done a considerable amount of research in this area.
Theyve concluded that raw-food diets have their pros and cons but, in general, arent necessarily a healthier choice for your pet.
No scientific studies have shown benefits of raw diets. Their appeal is based on word of mouth, testimonials and perceived benefits, the universitys pet nutrition team wrote in a post about raw diets for pets.
This conclusion doesnt mean that your cat wont benefit from eating Dr. Marty Natures Feast, though. The foods multiple types of meat give it a higher fat content than the average dog food, which results in positive changes to your cats coat and digestion.
Furthermore, the foods lack of fillers benefits your cat, as cats are natural meat eaters and need as little filler as possible in their food.
Finally, Natures Feasts omega-3 fatty acids are most important for young cats, particularly to protect against brain abnormalities. EPA and DHA are an important part of an adult cats diet, too. Theyre proven to aid in growth and reproduction.

What Kinds Of Pet Food Does Dr Marty Offer
Dr. Marty offers three different kinds of foods as far as cat food is concerned. It has one recipe of free-dried kibbles, one recipe for cat digestive supplement, and two different cat treats made of raw salmon and raw chicken breast.
Below are the products you can choose from.
Natures Feast Premium Freeze-Dried Raw Cat FoodFeline Prime Adult Cat Digestive SupplementSqueekis Delights Raw Salmon Cat TreatsTopis Tasties Premium freeze-dried raw chicken breast cat treatJasmines Gems Premium freeze-dried raw chicken liver cat treat
Dr. Marty offers only one recipe of their kibble. The simple reason for that could be that the formula contains all the meat sources combined. It contains Turkey, Salmon, Whitefish, Chicken, and Egg as the primary protein source.
If Dr. Marty had kept Turkey, Salmon, and Chicken recipes separate, we would have three different kibbles to choose from. Three different variants can be possible in the future, but for now, you have only one option available for kibble.

Raw Cat Food Recipe Without Bones
Why do we have this spare bowl? Im going to put the wipes into this bowl to use later and just make maybe an omelet or something for myself and put the yolks into this bowl. So we have our four yolks into these yolks.
We are going to add all of these powdered supplements and again I will put all the measurements in the link below by the way for the vitamin B, you want to make sure that you either get a powder or you get these veggie caps that you can open up and just dump the powder into this mixture? So now were just going to add.
Grind up our bones, so the Vitamix is here and ready to go. Were, going to open this up and put about 75 % of the bones into the Vitamix okay.
So now for the grossest part of this whole process, probably when we grind up the bones in here until they are completely ground down, I add a little of water to give it some help.
Needless to say, I wash and sanitize the crap out of this when Im done doing this so now what I do is, I add this egg yolk mixture into the blender and spring it down just a little one more time.
Alright, thats that looks like that pink slime, crap we heard about on the news a while ago. So what were going to do next is bring this back into the picture and dump all of this glorious, pink slime into the meat.

Whats My Take On Dr Marty Natures Blend
There were mixed reviews of Dr. Marty Natures Blend dog food, but heres what I found.
The nutritional profile is quite promising for a dogs health and well-being. I fed my dog Ollie, a Samoyed, with Dr. Marty Natures Blend, and the transition went smooth and very well.
I followed the guidelines mentioned on the official website.
Some dogs may get an upset stomach, diarrhea, or any other digestive issues. However, digestive issues are common when switching to different food.
I mostly feed all my dogs raw dog food that has ingredients such as raw meat, vegetables, fruits, superfoods, and supplements in an appropriate amount. It also includes brown rice, carrots, and potatoes which might sound like an unnatural diet for a canine.
However, thats not true.
Fresh veggies, wholesome grains, fruits, and some superfoods are a crucial part of a dogs meal. Dr. Martys dog food is quite similar to what Im already feeding them both, in terms of ingredients and nutrition.
A major change in Ollie I noticed after switching to Dr. Marty is his activity. He has become more active and his performance in agility has also been improved. I started noticing empty bowls recently. It means he is enjoying his food now.
Yes, if Im looking to switch to premium dog food, I would definitely choose Dr. Marty Natures Blend. It has good value for money.

Dr Marty Pets Animal Testing
At this time, we have no information on what kind of testing Dr. Marty Pets takes part in. However, given the small size of the brand and its limited product range, they are likely to not partake in any significant testing or feeding trials.
Supporters of the large pet food brands argue that feeding trials are a crucial part of the formulation process. You can read more about these brands opinions on testing in our article on the WSAVA Guidelines.
We firmly believe that testing on animals in an invasive manner or laboratory setting is a cruel and outdated. We hope it will be severely reduced or eliminated in the coming years.
