Arctic Cat Diesel Atv Introduction
Introduced in 2008, Arctic Cat remains the industry leader in the diesel ATV market for 2010. A new color and winch lead the way for this formidable powerhouse.
The 700 twin cylinder, SOHC diesel engine, provides 50% greater fuel mileage over a conventional gasoline engine and provides gobs of low-end torque. The engine runs efficiently on six forms of diesel fuel with a glow plug pre-heater assist for low temperature starting.

Up and down mountains, pulling disabled vehicles, or just playing on trails in the heat or snow, the Arctic Cat 700 Auto Diesel is an ATV you should consider for hard work on not much fuel.
One of the main complaints you hear from folks about diesel-powered all-terrain vehicles usually has to do with their inability to get out of the way of a lunch-hour mail truck. Arctic Cat’s 700 Auto Diesel all-terrain vehicle ends that syndrome. While you won’t find the 700 setting any land world speed records, it runs quite fast enough for the workhorse it is. And, off the line, don’t stand in the way of this Minnesotan! While weighing in empty at 823 lbs., the 700 Diesel jumps from a dead stop and will top-end in about 10-12 seconds, right around 40 miles per hour. The continuously variable transmission has two ranges, but we jokingly wonder why they bothered with a “low” since the long-stroke diesel will handle just about anything in “high.” In fact, the only time we used “low” over the all-terrain vehicle’s five-month stay at our house, was loading it up ramps into the pickup and pulling a disabled 2,700-lb. Jeep CJ5 through some mud after an embarrassing U-joint incident. Even on steep mountain trails the high range had plenty of leverage going up, and excellent engine braking coming down — with two adults on board!
Arctic Cat Diesel Atv Coming To Us
Arctic Cats diesel ATV which began production in September of last year for European customers is slated for U.S. dealers this March. The diesel ATV, which has been approved for use with 6 kinds of diesel fuel, including biodiesel, has a 686cc 2 cylinder engine and has 30 percent better fuel economy than comparable gasoline models.
The diesel ATV was developed in conjunction with Roush Industries for the military market and crossover to the civilian market was a natural for industrial and agricultural use. This move is similar to the Bulldog diesel motorcycle which was first built for the military and then introduced to the civilian market.
Diesel has made a lot of strides over the past year with the Audi diesel racers winning easily in the LeMans series and a diesel streamliner setting a new diesel speed record at Bonneville. Weve been following diesel developments for a long time since we first wrote about the Thunder Star 1200 almost two years ago.

Roush Diesel Quad Atv
It looks like diesel is where the action is. Roush Industries has just announced their diesel quad which has been undergoing testing for two years. Based on an Arctic Cat quad, they are running a 686cc naturally aspirated diesel. Developed in response to military needs, especially from special forces units, along with the militarys desire for a range of vehicles that run on a single fuel, the quad will also be produced for civilian use with full commercial production slated for early 2006. Civilian models will be sold through the Arctic Cat dealer network, military models will be handled by Roush Europe. Its even getting a stealth exhaust for a low acoustic signature, how cool is that?

In its basic form, the Quad Bike can carry 45.3 kg on the front rack and 90.7 kg on the rear rack.The twin cylinder in-line 686cc engine currently develops 18hp and a massive 39 Nm of torque, with even higher performance variants being considered. The engine is water cooled and naturally aspirated. Transmission is via an automatic gearbox, with both a high and low range, which provides responsive acceleration and effective engine braking. Final drive is through sealed drive shafts, front and rear and constant velocity joints. The underside of the drive train is protected by a high-density skid plate to prevent damage when manoeuvring over stumps, rocks and other obstructions.

This bike is absolutely wonderful. I selling it to buy a tractor with a front end loader. It looks new like the day it was bought. It is green and black, all the plastic are great, Tires are all very good. Has very little hours on it. Has high powered LED lights in front and on the rear. Front and rear racks. Winch in front and works perfectly. Back support for driver. This is the best 4×4 atv i have ever owned. Runs great. Ready to go. Just get on and ride. Very good on fuel mileage.
