You can come take a look at some of our adoptable kitties at the cat habitat in the Troy Petsmart location at Rochester Rd and Big Beaver. Hands-on visits will need to be scheduled through our adoption application, but they love attention from everyone they see! We are always on the lookout for new volunteer caretakers for our Petsmart cats.

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you’ll have a friend for life.
What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?
When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.
So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

ANN ARBOR, MI Its almost impossible to be stressed out when sharing the warm, fluffy embrace of tiny kitten, but where can a person find one for a quick hug?
The Humane Society of Huron Valley is making that dream possible for teens starting Wednesday, Dec. 8, to Sunday, Dec. 12, offering free admission and appointments for any high school teens to visit the Tiny Lions Lounge and Adoption Center and mingle with the kitties to relieve some holiday stress.
The regular rate to come in and visit the cats is $4 a half hour or $7 an hour.
Cats are therapeutic, said Karen Patterson, VP of Humane Education and Volunteering at the Humane Society of Huron Valley which operates the cat café. Studies show that cats purring helps lower our stress and blood pressure, and literally help us heal.
The Humane Society of Huron Valley states theres no obligation to adopt while visiting the café, but the option can be made available for loving homes.
And the kittens zest for life and live-in-the-moment mentality can help get our mind off things, said Tiny Lions Café Manger Allison Manz. Ive witnessed it countless times people come in to the café in one mood, and leave in a much better one. You cant help but smile with kittens around.
The cat café, located at 5245 Jackson Road in Ann Arbor, is open Wednesday to Saturday noon to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Here at Second Chance Cats , our mission is to help cats at municipal shelters who are at risk for euthanasia, or cats who have special/medical needs that shelters have a hard time managing. Because we are primarily working with area shelters and rescues, we, unfortunately, are not able to take stray cats off the streets or cats that need to be re-homed. We are a small, volunteer-based facility, and we simply dont have the space to quarantine new arrivals at our adoption center. We ask that people please do not bring outside cats into our adoption center this facility is for cats who are ready to be adopted into their forever homes. We wish that we were able to help every cat in need, but it simply is not possible and we are doing our best to stick to our mission of giving second chances to at-risk cats. If you have found a stray or have a cat that needs to be re-homed, please contact Kent County Animal Shelter or Humane Society of West Michigan both wonderful resources in our community that can help with these kinds of needs.

We come across many many adoptable cats and kittens needing good homes and we do our best to help as many as we can properly care for.
