Lamb Millet And Squash Stew

First try on Raw cat food (Dr. Martys nature feast)

Lamb can be a good source of protein for dogs who show a sensitivity to other meats. Millet is also one of the least allergenic foods, so together with the easily digestible squash, this makes a nutritious meal.

  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 500ml stock or water
  • 80g millet
  • 300g butternut squash, peeled, deseeded and cut into 1cm dice
  • 100g peas, fresh or frozen
  • 2 tbsp mint, finely chopped

  • Warm the oil in a heavy saucepan over a medium-high heat and add the lamb. Cook, stirring from time to time, for five minutes. Lower the heat, add the garlic, if using, and stir for a minute. Pour in the stock, bring to a simmer, cover and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Add the millet and squash and cook for a further 30 minutes, stirring from time to time, until the meat is very tender. Add the peas, cook for five minutes more, remove from the heat and stir in the mint. Cool before serving.
  • If you like, cook this in a slow cooker for around eight hours, or in a pressure cooker on high for 25-30 minutes.
  • It will keep sealed in the refrigerator for three to four days, or in the freezer for four months.

If you want to serve this stew to humans, remove the portion for your dog and season what remains with salt and pepper, and more mint and/or some parsley. Its good hot or cold.

Natures Logic Wet Food Nutrition Review

The ingredient list is where Natures Logic is truly unique. These foods lack any sort of synthetic supplement such as vitamins, minerals or taurine. All the necessary nutrients come from natural food ingredients.

The primary ingredients are meat, with ingredients like heart and liver providing taurine. After meat, dried egg product is included, likely to enhance texture. Overall this food has a very high meat content.

Montmorillonite clay is included as an anti-caking agent and a natural source of magnesium. Herring oil is the source of healthy EPA and DHA omega-3s in this cat food.

The main source of B vitamins in this cat food is brewers dried yeast. This offers a natural alternative to synthetic vitamin supplements. It also has the added benefit of soluble fiber. Alfalfa meal, chicory root and pumpkin are the other fiber sources in this food.

Towards the end of the ingredient list Natures Logic wet cat food has several fruits and vegetables. These include apple, apricot, artichoke, blueberry etc. Oftentimes these ingredients are added for marketing value more than nutritional value, however Natures Logic uses very little imagery of these ingredients in their promotional materials. Given the unique formulation of these foods it is possible that these ingredients are playing some nutritional role for vitamins and minerals.

Other interesting ingredients in this food are egg shell meal and dried kelp .

    Transforming A Teenage Mother

Your food has helped to completely transform my beautiful Russian Blue/Domestic Shorthair to great health, insane energy, and a fabulous shiny coat. I think Sydney is still under one year old, even though the rescue people thought she was a 1 to 2 year- old. She gave birth in June to six black kittens, all boys. She was spayed in early August, and I adopted her at the end of August. After a couple of weeks of your food, she was showing her kitten playful self, and her coat just shone like platinum. I cant say she adores your food, but she eats it, and that is what matters. She has made a full recovery from her pregnancy, and is the equivalent of a two year old toddler whos been drinking coffee!

Is Dr Martys A Good Cat Food

Yes. With premium quality cat food that uses ingredients that are safe for cats and rich in proteins with moderate fats means it is above average food. The freeze-dried technique keeps 99% of the ingredients and its nutrition intact so that your cat gets the most out of the nutrients. Being that the food is freeze dried makes it easy to store as well.

The Natures Feast cat food has no fillers or additives, is rich in meat protein and contains above-average levels of fat.

The only downside is the price of Dr. Martys products. Most negative reviews state the price is too high.

Is Fancy Feast Dry Food Good For Cats

In our opinion, Fancy Feast dry foods are not good for cats because it contains a lot of bad ingredients, including meat by-products, fillers, corn, gluten, soybean meal, and artificial flavors.

Sure, eating fancy feast is relatively affordable. But it’s important to remember that if a kitty doesn’t get the right nutrients she needs or is exposed to foods that could trigger allergies, food sensitivities, and other health problems, then as a pet parent you may end up spending more in vet bills.

The Gourmet Natural variety is much better than the non-natural variant, but it still contains some grain ingredients. However, its not all bad for the brands dry foods. Each of these contains enough vitamins and minerals to provide your cats daily needs for an active and healthy lifestyle. Theyre also quite cheap, so a little goes a long way.
