Here are a few things reviewers are sharing

My autistic 5 year old LOVES these Pete the Cat books! Theyre simple enough for him to memorize, with small enough words to practice his actual reading skills and are fun to sing/recite! ~

I am an art teacher and look for books to incorporate into my lessons. My students LOVE Pete the Cat books and after reading it to the class we make an art project based on the book. I plan to buy more Pete the Cat books. It was funny how he stepped into different things, stained his new shoes but had a good attitude about it and saw the positive side of each situation. Highly recommend. ~

Love the story. Easy to read. Read this to my reception class and have watched the video on youtube. ~

Guided Reading Using Printable Books

Interactive Component

The students cut and paste pictures that correspond to the text. They can also color the pictures.

I use the black and white version of the emergent reader for guided reading. I monitor if my students can track words, correlate text to picture, use initial letter sounds associated with the picture and identify a few sight words. I make a copy for each of my students so they can take these home to read to others. I absolutely love using printable books because it allows my students to mess them up. Many of the readers have an interactive component where the students are required to interact with it in some form . This adds a greater sense of ownership and meaning for the students.
