What Greater Gift Than The Love Of A Cat ~ Charles Dickens
After being ill I have recently found myself with a bit of time on my hands. So what better way to fill it than by crafting?! While being away from work my cat has taken full advantage of my rest by finding a comfy nook or cranny on my bed to snooze the day away in. So while flicking through my crafting books I came across an unusual pattern for a cat toy which I thought would be perfect to get him moving.
The pattern came from One Ball of Wool, a book with a variety of patterns using some more modern knitting materials as well as wool. The cat toy consists of a sea monster, knitted in four parts and then sewn together. Reading the pattern beforehand I thought it would be quite time consuming, however I was pleasantly surprised to find it can be completed in one day!
I am really pleased with the completed item, I have to admit I was a little reluctant to allow my cat to play with it for fear it would be destroyed! However, after a few minutes of play surprisingly it remained in one piece. It was fun to make and fun to use. So now all that is left is to enjoy some playtime!
