Found A Momcat N Kittens

Kittens up for adoption at the Humane Society of Harford County

Here’s how to help ……………..>

Now that spring/summer is here, you a may find an abandoned cat or two living under your porch or in your shed. Sometimes that cat is a pregnant female looking for a safe place to have and raise her kittens. The best thing to do is to try to find a shelter or rescue that will take her in and let her have her kittens and raise them before they are put into adoptive homes. MHS will take a momcat and her kittens – when we have a foster home for them. If you want the mom back, we will spay her and return her to you at no charge to you. We will find new homes for her kittens. If no rescue can take her and her kittens, please set up a safe place for her until you can find room in a shelter/rescue. Making a cat shelter is not difficult. Click on the ‘find out more’ button above. Check out Petfinder.com for a listing of shelters/rescues in this area and write to them with a request for help.

Providing The Best Care Possible For All Pets At Our Shelter

Kittens For Sale Mn Humane Society

The Coulee Region Humane Society, located in Onalaska, Wisconsin, was established in 1971 and is La Crosse County’s sole humane society and stray-holding facility. Our goal is and always has been to provide the best care possible for all pets staying at the shelter. We work hard to be their voice, their advocate and their caregiver. It is also our goal to place all healthy and adoptable animals into forever and loving homes, and humanely euthanize only animals that are unhealthy and/or not able to be adopted.

We value animals of any and every kind. It is our promise that we will never turn an animal in La Crosse County away, regardless of its circumstance. As a resource to our community, we value transparency and we promise to remain open and honest about what it is we do here at the Coulee Region Humane Society. We value love, we value life and we value community.

What Determines If A Pet Is Adoptable

Animals will not be made available for adoption in the following cases:

  • The animal shows aggression towards people or other pets.
  • The animal has attacked or bitten people or other pets without provocation.
  • The animal is seriously ill or will require extensive veterinary care.
  • The animal has injuries so extensive that it will need to be euthanized for humane reasons.

Why Should You Adopt

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you’ll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.

Lost And Found Animals

We all hope our beloved pet never is on the missing list but unfortunately it can and does happen. Someone leaves a door or gate open, the dog runs off when it was only suppose to be doing it’s “business” and so on.

The first thing everyone should have on their pet is an id tag with your current phone number on it. A city license tag or a rabies tag can be next to worthless if an animal is found after hours. Having your pet micro chipped can be beneficial but it is not a guarantee you will get your pet back. As an owner you will need to keep the chip updated with your current phone number. If a pet has a change of owners that will also need to be changed with chip company. Then there is the issue of getting the pet scanned. Keep in mind not all animals brought into a shelter can be scanned due to temperament issues.

If you have lost your pet or found someone else’s pet here is what you should do.

  • Contact your local shelters with your information. If you have found a pet contact your local law enforcement to determine if you are in a contracted impound area. If you are the animal control officer will transport animal to HART.
  • Putting lost and found information on social media has it’s pros and cons. It may return your pet to you but it also may give the finder all the information about your pet. And they may keep it.
  • It is best to bring a found pet to a shelter so the owner can pick it up.

Thank You Message From Off The Beaten Path Sanctuary

OMG Diane & Lynn, this is unreal. The kitties will not know what to do. That cat litter is the greatest thing ever. I use that in my shop & game room…this is where I have misfits, elderly & special needs & some in my house. We use the saw dust in the cat barn. I have Fed Ex deliver up to my house & keep it stored in my shed & take it to the cat barn a little at a time. If I don’t do it this way, it disappears way too quickly. I think Bob just feeds tons out at a time and a lot gets wasted and then we do not have anything. I also want our HS to keep bringing food such as it is. I found out it works well this way and Bob will mix this good stuff with what the HS provides. I hope this makes sense to you…the kitties appreciate every morsel and I want them to get it. You are the greatest people in the world and I appreciate everything you do so much. Believe me, I will have this last for a long time with what I buy from my funds…they get a lot of rotisseree chicken as treats & I also cook chicken & rice for them when the weather gets bitter cold. I want them to feel special and with all that you do, we are making that happen! Thank you so much!!!
