Themes Writing And Process
While the show is marketed as a Western superhero narrative, its thematic base is the Japanese mahÅ shÅjo genre, with its focus on transformation sequences, a school cast, the gathering of a team of heroes, animal friends, and end-of-episode collages. In particular, Ladybug is strongly influenced by the genre’s landmark entry Sailor Moon: Not only does the name of Marinette recall Sailor Moon’s title, but the main characters’ magical companions reflect Sailor Moon‘s Luna and Artemis, the main villain’s power resembles that of Queen Beryl, and the show’s entire plot parallels the story of Sailor Saturn.Ladybug features numerous other direct and indirect references to its inspiration.
The concept for the show originally dealt with political themes, geared towards teens and young adults. However, after failing to gain traction with networks, it was retooled for a younger target audience.:40 Astruc said that he is delighted that the show is able to reach younger and older people.
Each episode takes around 3 months to write, from scratch to final validation of broadcasters. Assistant director, Wilfried Pain, said that each episode is composed of two parts: a sitcom aspect where the characters have to speak for themselves, and an action element where the camera is always moving.
Miraculous Has Many Parallels To Superheroes Of Previous Generations
Like many superhero stories, Miraculous draws heavy inspiration from older TV shows and comic books, and it makes no attempts to hide these influences. However, two of the more obvious influences on Miraculous might be from so long ago at this point that some of the smaller kids in the audience might not recognize them. Oh dear, we’re getting old, aren’t we?
The first obvious precursor to Miraculous is Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon prominently features a romance between a teenage superheroine, the eponymous Sailor Moon, and a masked mystery man who serves as her sidekick, Tuxedo Mask. Also, both Ladybug and Sailor Moon transform into their superhero costumes through the use of magic items, and both have talking animal sidekicks.
Another famous superhero with many remarkable similarities to Ladybug is, strangely enough, Spider-Man. Both Peter Parker and Marinette are teenagers in red bug costumes. Plus, they both display super agility and a preference for travel by swinging through the use of web shooters and a magic yoyo, respectively. Just like Marinette, Peter is constantly forced to balance the needs of his personal life with his superhero life, and although Spidey’s primarily romantic interest in most of his incarnations is , he also sometimes has a bit of a will they/won’t they relationship with a cat-themed superhero of his own. She even has the same name as Cat Noir, albeit translated into English Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat.

The Real Villains Of The Show Are Tikki And Plagg
To be fair, Plagg states in the episode “Sandboy” that kwamis are unable to say the names of their current owners, but no such prohibition exists against saying the name of another Miraculous holder. After all, Tikki says Adrien’s name plenty of times throughout the show, both before and after she learned his secret. Also, in the episode “Cat Blanc,” Marinette travels to an alternate future in which the world basically gets destroyed, and in that timeline, she and Cat Noir know each other’s identities, but the end of the world isn’t directly caused by that knowledge. Our heroes could totally avoid the bad fate of that other timeline by making better decisions.
As proof that this sort of thing can be done, look at Nino and Alya, aka Carapace and Rena Rouge, two Miraculous holders who are also dating. They learn each other’s identities at the end of season 2, and everything is just fine. In fact, they can now even provide alibis for each other, making it arguably more difficult for their identities to be revealed to the wider world. Tikki and Plagg are just being jerks. Why do you hate love, you weird little bugs?

Miraculous Fans Deserve Better
I feel like this app is doing a disservice to the Miraculous brand it feels cheap & I hate that feeling a lot. First theres way too many ads either offer an ad-free version or the ability for the user to pick to watch ads for select items that way theyre not bombarded. Next, the models need to be improved they can look way sharper and smooth its 2018 lots of phones can handle way more than before and images for items look off putting I think somebody needs to spend more time studying props from the series to incorporate within the game. Also, I have a problem with the UI its just clunky as heck and the colour palate looks way off from the series rework the UI to be better to be a better fit streamline it more. Lastly, the controls are wonky its not very easy to move through the area & Im dealing with lag from the app, my phone is a 7 so its a much more recent model & Ive been using it for less than a year now so I shouldnt have any technical trouble. It seems like they rushed the app out just to market quickly to Miraculous fans, its quite disheartening to feel that from an app that has way more potential to be greater. This app will need heavy turn around from the developer because a majority of Miraculous fan base is between 15-25 so it wont be easy to pull a fast one on us.Apologies if this was long I typically dont write reviews for any of the apps I play, but this app just feels wrong…
Is It Any Good
Ladybug and Cat Noir make a charming crime-fighting duo, but their relationship easily eclipses the show’s action in entertainment value. As with most alterego setups, you have to forgive the characters’ naivety about each other’s true identities, accepting that merely an eye mask and some cat ears really can render Marinette and Adrien unrecognizable to each other. Once you get past that, it’s fun to watch their relationship develop, and it’s interesting to note the differences in how it does when they’re incognito versus when they’re not.
But that’s just half of the story. When they’re not fighting bad guys in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Marinette and Adrien are typical tweens facing typical tween troubles — keeping up with school, making friends, and dealing with difficult peers such as pretentious, spoiled Chloe , whose devious actions usually wind up elevating patient, kind Marinette’s standing in her classmates’ eyes. Overall, the message to kids is that being a bully doesn’t pay off, and if you want people to like you, it’s best to just be yourself . Not a bad takeaway from an entertaining hero tale.

Voice Actors Of Miraculous
Hello Miraculers I hope you are well :D.
Today I was thinking about writing a different blog and then I had the idea to write a blog of the voice actors that give life to our favorite characters, without saying anything else, let’s start.
Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is a very famous series and translated into an incredible variety of languages, but for the list not to be so long I will focus only on three, the original, that is, French, English and Spanish.
She gives voice to Marinete in her original language, is originally from France and loves reading, watching movies, dancing and traveling. In addition to his work in Miraculous is known to interpret many other characters as the famous Usagi / Sailor Moon in Sailor Moon Crystal or Chichi in Dragon Ball Z Kai.
She is the voice actress of Marinette in English. She currently lives in Los Angeles and loves to sing. Her inspiration for being a voice actor comes from the Sailor Moon series, because she wanted to be animator before.
She gives voice to Marinette in Latin Spanish, was born in Mexico, and comes from a family of actors of dubbing. She is known for giving voice to many actresses, among them Jennifer Lawrence, Bridgit Mendler, AnnaSophia Robb, Alyson Stoner, among others.

Did Marinettes Voice Actor Change
It sounded like when Cristina Vee first started to voice Marinette. I couldnt really get over it, but voicing while everything is in lockdown must have affected most of the voice actors because many of the voice tones shifted.
Edit: holy shit how did i get silver for this?
Uh yah i actually just started watching the special and was so put off i googled it. I think it has to do with the fact the talking speed is slower. They had to adjust i think because high pitch voices talking real slow would just come off as whiny. . It also looked like they tried really hard to match the voice flaps more than usual too. Maybe wanted a more mature tone. Plus covid probably making it more difficult to coach lines as needed. Oh well…
Literally Gabriel is the only voice that didnt sound different.
An Ocean Of Queer Subtext Lies Beneath Miraculous’ Surface
Though queer representation in kids’ shows is now becoming more of the norm in America, it seems as though France might be a step behind in this regard because there aren’t any confirmed LGBTQ+ characters in Miraculous, at least not in the canonical text of the show. In the subtext, however, it’s a completely different story. Miraculous contains multiple minor supporting characters who are pretty clearly intended to be in same-sex relationships, even if the show doesn’t ever come out and say so explicitly.
The first major gay relationship in the show is between shy goth Juleka Couffaine and bubbly blonde Rose Lavillant. Though polar opposites in many ways, the two characters are clearly very close. They’re often shown holding hands, leaning on or comforting each other, and the two are even implied to kiss in the episodes “Zombizou” and “Reflekdoll,” though it’s somewhat obscured both times.
The other subtextually queer pairing in Miraculous is the one between Marc Anciel and Nathaniel Kurtzberg. These two artsy kids are practically inseparable, and Marc is undeniably designed to be read as queer. Not only does he have visible makeup, rainbow clothing, and queer-coded mannerisms, even his name, Marc Anciel, is a pun on the French term for rainbow, “arc-en-ciel.” Series creator Thomas Astruc even semi-confirmed Mark’s queerness when he revealed that the character was based on a friend of his, the bisexual genderfluid artist Hope Morphin.

Is Adrien In Love With Marinette
Adrien complimenting Marinette on her fashion designs. Adrien likes Marinette as a friend and seems to be totally oblivious to her feelings for him, which is shown when he tries to set her up with Nino in Animan. He thinks she is a fantastic artist, occasionally showing signs of affection towards her.
Talk To Your Kids About
Do Ladybug and Cat Noir make a good team in Miraculous? How is their relationship different when they’re in costume as opposed to when they’re not?
Kids: Can you relate to Marinette’s issues with self-confidence? Why does she feel less inhibited when she is Ladybug than when she’s herself?
This superhero story is unusual in that it’s set in a real place. Do you like how the show incorporates actual Paris landmarks? Does the realistic setting change the nature of the fantasy superhero content?

After The First Two Transformation Phrases Someone Clearly Ran Out Ideas
If you’re a superhero who magically transforms into your alter ego, there’s something important that you need to decide ASAP, right up there with your costume and your name your transformation phrase. Whether you settle on “shazam,” “henshin,” or “by the power of Grayskull,” a good catchphrase is paramount. Ladybug and Cat Noir definitely have this covered. Ladybug’s “Tikki, spots on” and Cat Noir’s “Plagg, claws out” are right up there with “it’s morphin’ time” when it comes to top-tier mantras. They’re short, punchy, and memorable.
Unfortunately, it’s pretty clear that the writers or perhaps just the translators quickly ran out of steam after coming up with these first two catchphrases because pretty much every other Miraculous holder we meet has a transformation phrase that’s either extremely wordy, nonsensical, or both. Viperion is stuck with the awkward tongue twister “Sass, scales, slither,” and Multimouse has the cringe-inducing “Mullo, get squeaky.” Just try saying one of those out loud with a straight face, we dare you. Perhaps even worse, Carapace has “Wayzz, shell on” and Queen Bee has “Pollen, buzz on,” both of which are basically just copies of Ladybug’s phrase.
